Greenfield housing development
A proposed eight house development on a greenfield site at Cross Skigersta, Ness, has been submitted for planning consent by Mr Alex Murray of Alex Murray Construction Ltd, Island Road, Stornoway. The proposal is to build four semi-detached single-storey blocks on a 0.53-hectare plot. The development is a Hebridean Housing Partnership project.
Erect four houses
Planning permission is being sought to build four houses on an existing greenfield site at Loch Street, Barvas. The applicant is Mr Alex Murray, of Alex Murray Construction Ltd, Island Road, Stornoway. The development is on land owned by Urras Sgire Oighreachd Bharabhais Community Company, Ionad Na Seann Sgoil, North Shawbost. The site is adjacent to Cearnag Na Sgoile.
Erect a house
Planning consent is being sought to demolish an existing house at 35A Vatisker and erect a new one on the same 1211 square metre site. The applicant is Ms Christina Stewart, of 9 Gearraidh Ghuirm. The plans include the installation of an air source heat pump.
Erect a house and studio
A four-bedroom house with a detached studio is proposed for land at 9B Kirkibost, Bernera. The applicant, Mrs Jenny Wilson, of Newton Harcourt, Leicester, plans to build on a site adjacent to Bernera Lodge. The studio is described as being for ancillary domestic use.
Removal of conifers
Planning permission is being requested to remove several conifer trees from the property at 2 Plantation Road. The tightly packed trees now tower over the two-storey house. One mature tree has already fallen over. Details of the applicant have not been uploaded to the Comhairle’s online planning portal.
The Coop superstore on Macaulay Road, Stornoway, is set to revamp its external signage if their application for planning permission is granted.
The supermarket chain wants to replace their existing signage with a range of new advertisement signage on the building and in the car park. Consent is being sought for a period of five years.
Proposals have been submitted to re-slate the roof and instal a solar panel array at Flat A, Seaforth House, 23 Scotland Street, Stornoway. The application for planning permission has been submitted by Tighean Innse Gall, of 13-15 Francis Street, Stornoway.
New house erection
A house, workshop and wind turbine are being proposed for a plot of land at 51B North Galson. The applicant, Mr John Adams, of 3 Mackenzie Street, Stornoway, has applied for planning consent to build a single-storey two-bedroom house with a detached garage and adjoining hobby woodworking workshop. It is also proposed to instal a domestic-scale wind turbine.co
