Planning permission is being sought after Comhairle planning officials deemed that two out of eight proposed electric vehicle charging points require consent.

The new EV charging points are being installed as part of the HITRANS FASTER initiative to widen the network for electric vehicles.

One of the sites is at Leverburgh Ferry Terminal. It is proposed to replace the existing 22 kW charger with a 50 kW unit.
