The mini Covid-19 hotspot in South Uist is continuing to produce new cases.

Last night (Thursday January 20) the latest update from NHS Western Isles Chief Executive Gordon Jamieson reported there had been 22 cases in all – of which 11 were in South Uist.

There was also 1 in Benbecula, 1 in Harris and 9 in Lewis.

The previous night (Wednesday January 19) there had been 10 in Lewis, 1 in North Uist, 2 in Benbecula, 1 in Barra and 9 in South Uist.

NHSWI have 2 drop-in vaccination clinics for COVID (booster and 1st & 2nd dose) & flu vaccination today at Co-op, Macaulay Road and at Ospadal Uibhist agus Bharraidh, both 10.30am - 5.30pm.
